The origin of Gin Puerto de Indias
Puerto de Indias is THE ORIGINAL Premium Strawberry Gin, produced in one of Spain’s oldest and most traditional distilleries located in Seville.
The distillery was founded in 1880 in the site of a natural spring water dating back to the Roman period. The distillery has been producing craft spirits in copper pot stills using traditional techniques for over a century.
The entrepreneurial insight of two siblings
In 2001, Jose Antonio and Francisco Rodriguez Fernandez acquired the distillery and began distilling aniseed, fruit and herbal liqueurs. In 2013, inspired by the forward looking, innovative and courageous history of Seville they decide to challenge the status quo of the Gin category and create a new perception and consumption habits amongst new consumers.
Their Vision was to bring Puerto de Indias as the gin that Changed it All by disrupting the traditional Gin & Tonic consumption occasion by adding flavor and accessibility.
Brand Inspiration
The name Puerto de Indias refers to Spain’s discovery of America in the 15th century when Seville was the vital port connecting Europe to the “New World”. Known as “Puerto de Indias”, Seville was a place of splendor and adventure, the most important trade center in Europe.
And witness to this world expansion the Gold Tower keeps watch silently since then. The bottle pays homage to those days of astounding feats.
